Terms of Service & License Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Yakitori ("we") for Yakitori (the "app") and the Yakitori account service (the "service"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

The license

"Lifetime" means a perpetual, non-expiring license to use the app, obtained through a one-time purchase. It is personal to your account, non-exclusive, and non-transferable, and permits unlimited Mac installations. It does not mean lifetime support, guaranteed availability of the service, or access to every future product or version.

Free trial

We offer a one-time 14-day free trial. An account is required so a trial cannot be restarted, and a trial is generally limited to one per account and one per Mac. The trial unlocks the same features as a license. At the end of the trial you may purchase to keep recording new sessions; your existing data remains viewable and exportable either way.

Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure. Accounts and licenses are personal: do not share credentials, resell licenses, or let others use your account.

Purchases, prices, and taxes

Purchases are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). The price shown at checkout is what you pay, plus any taxes we are required to add. You are responsible for taxes that apply in your location to the extent we do not collect them.

Refunds

You may request a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, worldwide. After that, purchases are final. See our Refund Policy for how to request one. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under mandatory consumer law.

Acceptable use

Do not impersonate others, spam, harass, or post unlawful content. Do not forge licenses or statistics, manipulate leaderboards, or circumvent trial or licensing controls. Do not disrupt the service or access data that is not yours. We may suspend or terminate a license for abuse or fraud.

Your writing and content

You own your writing. We do not receive your manuscript, document text, or keystrokes. You are responsible for any content you choose to publish, such as a public profile.

Public profiles and leaderboards

Public profiles and leaderboards are opt-in and off by default. If you choose to publish statistics, you grant us a license to display those aggregate figures on public pages and leaderboards. You can turn this off at any time.

Intellectual property

We and our licensors own the app, the service, and their content. Your license is a right to use the app, not a sale of it. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer the app except as permitted by law.

Availability and changes

The app's tracking works offline and does not depend on the service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue online services (accounts, licensing, leaderboards) at any time. A lifetime license survives such changes for the offline features of the app, but we cannot guarantee the continued availability of online services.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app and service are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that word counts, statistics, or projections are error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app or service will not exceed the amount you paid for the license.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the app or service or your breach of these terms.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, fraud, or abuse. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes protections you have under mandatory local consumer law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the date above and, where appropriate, notified to you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
